Annual Fund

Annual Fund dollars support Taft’s operating budget. That means they pay for books in the library; supplies in our science labs; teacher’ salaries; the paint brushes, pianos, and pottery clay that bring our arts programs to life; equipment for our athletics teams; campus maintenance and upgrades; the budgets for clubs and activities; and much, much more. Nearly 10% of the school’s total operating budget came from Annual Fund giving last year. While Taft’s tuition is substantial, it does not cover the entire cost of educating a student. The Annual Fund, combined with endowment income, must make up the $28,698 per student that tuition does not cover. These unrestricted dollars are critical because they allow trustees and administrators the greatest flexibility in allocating the money to support Taft’s highest priorities and immediate needs.
